I have a theory.

I think our thoughts come from not just our senses but from our entire bodies.

The vagus nerve connects our organs to our brains.

Our gut is our original brain, going back hundreds of millions of years.

The enteric nervous system in our intestine contains a massive number of neurons.

"Trust your gut" - where did that saying come from?
