These are my notes from watching all the scenes in the trailer: monsters destroying civilization, down to the wire, this is our only chance, the child able to bond with King Kong, “she had nowhere to go so I made a promise to protect her”, Godzilla wreckin’ the place, King Kong with his telepathic child companion, “these are dangerous times”, something is provoking Godzilla to be mean and wreck the place, “the myths are real”, the final battle King Kong from the jungle, Godzilla from the sea, an ancient war, with rap music. Of course I don’t know how it ends, you have to go to the theatre for that.
How does it end is a good question. The not in the movie people, the real people, want to know too. The public mind wants to know how does it end. That’s why Godzilla vs. Kong is still a big seller. It’s been 60 years since the Japanese introduced monster movies to the world, and they’re still big sellers. Maybe it’s because everyone possesses that thought somewhere in the center of their brain or maybe out on the edge, who’s going to in?
Humans face possible extinction. If we damage the biosphere too much we’ll crash the food chain. Some people know it, some people don’t think about it but have a sneaky suspicion that’s it’s true anyways. That would be a rough ending.
We could light up just a few of our nuclear missiles buried in silos in the Nebraska cornfields and on underwater submarines cruising the globe and the whole thing would come unglued in a holy ball of fire.
More hopeful is the thought that some hero will arise and defeat the bad guy. Somebody like Gandalf or Luke Skywalker. Hey, did you hear about the two wolves? Yes, there are two wolves, a good one and a bad one, and they are battling for dominance inside of each human being. They both want to be in control. So how does the story end? The wolf that wins, is the wolf that we feed; feed the good wolf. That’s how that story ends.
King Kong and Godzilla probably have their own inner wolves and their own inner battles. Otherwise why would they be so motivated to act out? I mean really destructive.
Relax, King Kong. It’s ok. And I would say the same to Godzilla. Everybody dies sooner or later. That’s how it ends.
fantastic...you're ready for the bigtime....in fact you are the bigtime....
