it’s a great idea but i haven’t done it yet / i’m scared / sex is an unruly subject / it goes deep in the psyche / the labyrinthic forest and the clear stream / the vast sky and the soft earth / these things we knew when our sex was new / playful and friendly / virgin
if i asked people they might react in unpredictable ways / like repressed or expressed or freaked out about it / traumatized or romanticized or caricaturized / they might be feeling confused or trapped or bereft / they might be feeling verified or liberated or desecrated or riddled with questions about it or needled with unfulfilled fantasies about it or gratified about it / it was a great run a great ride i had a great time thank you
i’m scared of sex / i told that to a friend i met at the cafe once / how i never got over it / how weird is that ?? somebody should interview me / she was reading a book called ‘pussy’ / enlightening / so i figured it was fair
another cafe friend told me she wanted to be feral / like regress back to monkeys basically back when we were driven by instinct and curiosity / no guilt and no hesitation / back before the garden of eden and getting kicked out for being sinful and disobeying god
i can dig it but what’s done is done / we’ve been kicked out of the garden for thousands of years / no chance of going back now / we wouldn’t recognize the place if we did
so i guess we’re stuck with ourselves / sinful and disobedient / what a bad rap / we were just kids trying to figure it out / bound to make some mistakes along the way / we’re only human
and anyways i haven’t asked anybody about their private sex lives because they would probably say something startlingly candid and real and then i would be left standing there holding the empty bag of my question
maybe sexuality is something we don’t ask about we just think about it / wonder about it / like the jeans brand ‘guess’ / it’s sewn into the back pocket / they sell them at ‘forever 21’ at the mall
it’s only one aspect of life after all / there is alot more / let’s see there’s seeing there’s hearing there’s touching there’s feeling / important things that every infant is engaged in / once we get the hang of it we don’t notice it anymore though / just get on with the day’s agenda and it’s inevitable conclusion night
i could ask the barista about sex but i won’t / i’ll just wonder / i’ll just feel it
