I met you this morning and we shared a brief exchange of dialogue and laughter. I’m glad you shared your flyer. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your memoir. What a treat. Good to know you. Maybe we will have the chance to chat over a coffee again one day.

Thanks Rohn! yeah... I have nothing but good and sweet memories of my time in San Antonio. It was a truly special time and place. Haven't been back since 1976! Would like to visit some day!

A lovely piece, but I think there is a lot more story to tell about the City of Love and Light (COLL.) The secret rooms and always trying to blend in, innocuously, with the normal tourists and business people staying at the hotel.

Imagine = a whole community of 150+ people from all over the world hiding in plain sight! Going out each day to work in the local restaurants and businesses, hanging out on the Riverwalk, movies at the Aztec, our self-contained large-scale kitchen and dining room preparing incredible meals every day, workshops of all kind. We even had our own small fleet of vans and a big blue school bus for daily work commutes and weekend trips to Pedernales Falls in the hill country.

As I was in my early 20s then I considered my time at COLL as my true undergraduate education! (Eventually I did finish "real" college much later in life.) Maybe these are just unimportant details in the bigger context of a lifelong practice of living consciously, but it's fun to recall.

You touched on a topic not easy to describe or explain, and did it with lightness and grace. Well done. 👍
