I remember your beautiful pictures from spring. I bet a lot of the seeds are in the ground for next year. The new park in your neighborhood brought Joni Mitchell's song to mind: "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot". Good to know that they reverse this now.
How do we scale this up? Do we start a new religion? Rediscover an old one? How do we tell people the path of regeneration IS the path they are seeking now?
i don't know / i only know how to shine my little candle / there are a bunch of people working on this though including louis / i think when the need becomes apparent folks will it scale up / although the church of the green garden does sound pretty good
Bravo! Insert large cheers from the crowd here! This is a great project and exactly what the earth needs.
I used to cut down my spent sunflowers also but now I leave them as long as possible until they have fed all the birds (after the bees finish). Messy is natural and nourishing and live giving.
Yes Rohn, perhaps a a mistake. Let the meadows grow! For the bees! For the bees! Collect the seeds now and place them on top of the soil next year. Pray for rain and voila! Those mix packs in garden centers are not always good. You just have to check what is native and what is not and get the seeds. Lovely sense of place piece. Enjoyed it immensely. What is the song? How do you get your tunes? Epidemic sound subscription?
thanks xanda / yes i made sure there were plenty of sunflower seeds spread around on the ground / i decided not to include music on the podcast but this is what i was listening to https://youtu.be/pDUZHEXeY2Q?si=1VMoAbp-tz96S5fv starting around 56 / i don't how but the music just finds me
I used to live in Houston, which was just as hot but a lot greener (and muggier).
