Another good article. More than 200,000,000 human beings have died in war, at least according to some expert accounts, since the beginning of human history. What does this tell us? Maybe we need to find a better way to live with one another. Violence seems to be a poor way of managing problems. Some nations have an anger issue, or a superiority complex. The US, of course, is no different. We are indignant over Ukraine and yet bomb the hell out of Syria and Afghanistan and Iraq. We have been doing this for centuries. But, of course, this does not excuse Putin and his fascist administration from its acts of evil and inhumanity.

i've noticed the same thing "Violence seems to be a poor way of managing problems" yet we continue doing it / the US kinda sets the standard in many ways (as you mentioned) and has ever since we invented nuclear weapons / peace if we could attain it would be mankind's finest achievement / greater than going to the moon greater than all the technology we've created and greater than all the poetry and scriptures we've written / in my opinion

Just read this and feel sick to my stomach with the horribleness of it all. Makes me nuts. What the hell are we?? We are wonderful and good; but in more devastating ways, we are awful and gonzo crazy stupid. It’s an important observation, Rohn. I just finished reading Ishmael, and its sequel, The Story of B. Picked up the third of the trilogy at the library last night, My Ishmael. Daniel Quinn, the author, explains (to me anyway) a lot of what he believes is the problem; why we have become what we have become.

In the meantime, I thought you might be interested in this video I did last year when the war started. Corvallis, where I live in Oregon, has a sister city called Uzhhorod in the west of Ukraine, that we are supporting. The video was part of a fund raising effort. Serhiy Hudak is the photojournalist in Ukraine whose pictures I used with some of my music underneath. He has since joined the army and I haven't heard from him since. This is NOT the video that introduced you and me, it's another one that came later.

that is beautiful / i honestly don't know where i was going with my post / some kind of transcendent perspective of it all or just high sarcasm / not sure if it's better to point out the humanity as your video did or the macabre madness of it

I wondered what people did, where they went or didn't go. It's horrendous. It is unthinkable. Yet we chat about it on the news almost like it's the weather.

I notice you are taking a break from background music. I like it.

yeah i was trying to take it out of the chatty comfy realm of the weather report and make it a little more real / i might have gone too far with the H bomb thing / that wouldn't be the first time

thanks for the comment about the music / trying to keep it simple / i like it too

Even though very painful, I think we should talk and report about war honestly and graphically. Since we don't, I think we repeat it more often, and with less protests. We just say oh it's another war and go about our day. Unless it's our own house being bombed.

yeah war is romantic in the enlistment advertisements / it's interesting news for those of us sitting at home looking at our computer screen

it's not at all like that on the frontlines
