Wow! what a trip Rohn. How old were you? I have had the same experience with indigenous populations in Madagascar in particular (18 tribes) where customs differ greatly from tribe to tribe but they live in relative harmony. I didn’t have a florescent orange back pack, I just think that people all over the world embody the natural curiosity of the human mind well. I feel we have listened to some of that in the west.

What a good post for right now, and the map is fascinating. I assume it was created in the 20th century based on something or other and I wonder what that source was. Do you know? Were there reasonably accurate maps made 2000 years ago? Do they exist somewhere? Or did mapmakers in the 20th century create this kind of map based on texts or or something else? It’s beautiful and telling.

As for your message, I also believe that kindness is the answer. It may not change the whole world, but it sure does change small orbits.

good question / i assume that modern day map makers created the map from historical sources / of course those boundaries were pretty fluid (as they still are) so who knows how accurate it is

thanks for the comment / kindness is more powerful than we think that's what i think
