Nicely done. Good observations. When I grew up (Oregon, still here) we talked to 90% of the neighbors even stepping into each others' homes sometimes. But then it changed. People drew their blinds, stayed inside. Sad development. Now I live in a friendly neighborhood. We wave and say hi. We don't play cards or host each other.

hmm may be a sign of the times / i suspect that's one reason why people long for an apocalypse / i seem to carry my hermitage with me wherever i go / now that you mention it i remember we used to go 'visiting' when i was a little kid / it was part of my father's vocation as the minister of a small baptist church - to visit with the congregation in their homes / lovely tradition / me and my siblings would play on the carpet and crawl under the table while the adults talked and sipped coffee / or maybe it was tea - i think drinking coffee was on the list of banned activities on account of it might be a drug

Thank you, Rohn for the story and pictures from your life... to make me think about this subject. Do you wonder if the neighbor white board teacher, queen of the ball has safe boundaries and makes safe choices? Your place and neighborhood looks nice and your earthiness comes through in your choices of sleeping outdoors and your landscaping. Your story is grounding! Thank you <3
