"The spirits of the land, or however you want to think about that, are ignored and unrecognized. They are exiled." I liked that and many lines. This was an inspirited post, though I may have used that word wrong in a sentence. I am not sure. But I like the word and action and feel of inspirited, the word, and I am going to try and use it more often in the future. Thank you for the shout out, I feel slightly famous now. I didn't know it was so lush and growy in San Antonio. You seem very connected to your home and it to you. It must be fun to sleep outside. I have a possum or two and a raccoon here regularly.
san antonio sits at the intersection of 4 different bio-regions / to the south gnarly brush country with prickly pears and thorny shrubs goes all the way to the chihuahuan desert / to the north the southern plains with the post oak savannah and the blackland prairies begin / the llano uplift and the hill country vegetation is on the west and the coastal plain is on the east so it kind of depends on where you live / excellent hunting and gathering opportunities for the old ones / that plus a copious amount of springs made this a special place / a sacred site actually / very inspirited / some of that still remains
Ah, I see, thank you for description. I looked at a map too. It looks like it could be warm and moist- so I see why so much grows there. Do you swim in your pool?
yes it's warm and moist unless we're in a drought / the pool is the perfect addendum to a hot sweaty bike ride / the baptism ritual to renew your spirit / plus you come out smelling like algae
Thank you for this. I am writing (or trying to write) a song called Paradise this morning, and my thoughts are similar to yours. It’s always good to know you’re not alone. You’re a lucky man to be where you are. Thank you. Bar
...nope, not up early, just on the east coast so I was actually up a little late. Anyway, I only read it preferring to read because I use headphones all day and reading is my rest. I will share the song when it's finished. Don't hold your breath, though, because I am sloooooowwww when it comes to writing songs. I'm in Woodstock, NY now to record on Sunday, but because of COVID, we'll only get the bass tracks. No more than two people (me and another) in the studio at a time. That means I'll do additional tracks from home, which is just plain slower and isn't until late in April. Thanks for asking though.
